Confirmed: PARIVISION reinstated for Shanghai Major RMR after successful appeal
The Russian team has regained its chance to compete for a spot at the Shanghai Major later this year.
First, they were disqualified from the Perfect World Shanghai Major qualification, but this Tuesday, PARIVISION was reinstated and re-granted their spot at the RMR tournament. Something, HLTV reported yesterday through their sources.
The decision was confirmed today when the responsible tournament organizers issued a statement addressing the rather messy situation.
In the statement, they explained:
- After the original discussions resulting in disqualification of PARIVISION for having a permanently banned coach participate in the qualifiers, we have today been given an updated decision. This is based on a newly communicated ESIC appeal process that Ivan Kochugov (F1N) undertook, wherein it was decided that F1N should be eligible to participate in official events as of this Major cycle.
- As we have now been informed that PARIVISION will have their Shanghai Major RMR eligibility reinstated, the last-chance qualifier originally scheduled for August 27 is cancelled and will no longer be played, Perfect World wrote.
PARIVISION was initially removed from the Perfect World Shanghai Major qualifiers due to their coach, Ivan "F_1N" Kochugov, participating despite alledgely being ESIC-banned. After appealing the decision through ESIC, the ban was overturned, and PARIVISION's spot in the RMR tournament was reinstated.
This decision now allows the team to continue their journey in the Major qualification process.
