When ESL is set to host their Major in Brazil it will be with a bigger prize pool, the tournament organizers have confirmed. There’s now $1.250.000 up for grabs, which means that every single team who qualifies for the Major in Rio will earn prize money.

Compared to the previous Major tournaments, there was $1M in winnings and the minimum placement which is 17th-24th had no prizing allocated. That’s now been raised to $10.000 each, and the remainder is distributed across the 2nd-16th place.

The IEM Rio Major 2022 will take place between Nov 5th to Nov 13th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and will have a total of 16 teams competing to become Major champions.
