“Calling all CS:GO fans”: BBC to make IEM Rio Major documentary
The BBC wants CS:GO fans to star in a new documentary about the IEM Rio Major.
The IEM Rio Major is set to kick off on Monday, Oct. 31. Throughout the two weeks of the event, a total of 24 teams from all around the world will compete for a lion’s share of $1.250.000. BBC and the Major organizer ESL have been preparing something special for the event, as they are teaming up to create a documentary about the first Major in Brazil. CS:GO fans will be able to get a glimpse behind the scenes “at what it’s like for your favorite teams and players,” and every CS:GO fan has the possibility to be a part of it.
“Are you a massive Counter-Strike fan? How about being involved in the ultimate CS:GO Majors documentary? Over at BBC Studios, we’re following one of the largest CS:GO events ever, giving you a behind the scenes look at what it’s like for your favorite teams and players. We want to hear from all fans, whether you’re going to the Majors themselves, or having your own stream party. If you’re interested in getting involved and are over 18, please send us a brief email telling us why you’re the biggest fan, and you could be featured in our film.”
Micha “Carmac” Blichiarz, ESL’s vice president of product development, shed more light on the documentary on CS:GO’s subreddit. He stated that the documentary will make its global debut on ESL’s YouTube channel in January of next year and will be free to watch. “The scale of the event is unprecedented for us, so we wanted to make sure the event got the right level of storytelling around it”.
