Brazilian football stars play CS:GO during World Cup in Qatar
Members of the Brazilian football squad are enjoying their time in Qatar with some CS:GO between training sessions.
It’s not unusual for athletes to use video games to chill and relax during their downtime, although these games are often nothing like Counter-Strike and other FPS games. CS:GO is a rather strange alternative for players to unwind in between training sessions or games because it is far more intense and competitive than standard battle royale games. However, CS:GO seems to be just the recipe for Brazil’s football squad at the world's biggest sports event.
And it seems like Neymar has turned some of his teammates onto CS:GO during their time in Qatar. According to Middle East CS:GO owner Abdallah Al Ghifari, he witnessed some unexpected subscriptions from familiar faces on the Brazilian football team.
“Shall I stream their matches? THIS IS FUCKING CRAZY WTF!!!!!! Neymar, Casemiro, Lucas Paqueta, Gabriel Jesus, Èverton Ribeiro just subscribed to play in @meslcsgo” – Abdallah Al Ghifari via Twitter.
With Neymar and co. set to play their first match at the world cup on November 24, the Brazil players have some time to enjoy a bit of CS:GO. For many it may seem weird that football players are turning to play CS:GO, but their biggest football star, Neymar, has actually been a stellar CS:GO player for quite some time, and also a big fan of the game.
For the experienced CS:GO fan, it’s no secret that Neymar Da Silva Santos Júnior has been streaming himself playing CS:GO on Twitch for quite some time, and has also been attending some showmatches where he’s been playing against the likes of CS:GO pros such as Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut.
