BLAST excludes Russian teams for the foreseeable future
The renowned tournament organizer takes actions against Russia following the conflict happening right now in Ukraine.
As a consequence of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, BLAST Premier has decided to exclude all Russian-based teams and organizations from their events.
- Due to the conflict in Ukraine, no Russian-based teams will be invited to play in our events for the foreseeable future (…) Gaming and esports unite people from all races, countries and beliefs. We hope the situation on the world stage reflects this as soon as possible, BLAST writes in a statement.
The ban and exclusion will hit prominent teams like Gambit, Virtus.pro, Spirit, and forZe. None of these teams are BLAST partner teams, however, some of them have still participated in BLAST Premier events in recent times.
The next big BLAST Premier event is set to begin in April in the shape of BLAST Premier Spring Showdown.
