BLAST announce Washington, D.C as host for Spring Finals
The American capital will host the first BLAST event in four years in North America.
Several teams are right now trying their best to qualify for the BLAST Spring Finals at the Group Stage in Copenhagen. Yesterday BLAST revealed the location for the Spring Finals.
- North America has some of Counter-Strike’s most passionate fans and talented players. We are delighted to be returning to the U.S. in June to host our first BLAST Premier arena event of 2023. BLAST is focused on uniting fans through their shared love of esports and providing them with first-class entertainment experiences. Washington, D.C. provides the perfect location to deliver on this ambition, where we are excited to be partnering with Monumental Sports & Entertainment and Events DC to bring the Spring Final to a city with such a rich history of hosting leading sporting events, Charlotte Kenny, Managing Director for BLAST Premier said in a press statement.
The last time BLAST held a tournament in North America was in 2019, when Team Liquid won the Grand Final against FaZe. Back then Los Angeles was the destination.
The event will be hosted at Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington. The Spring Final will run from 7th-11th June. The event's prize pool is $450,000 and a place in the prestigious World Final will be given to the winner.
G2, FaZe, and Team Vitality are the first teams to qualify. There are still three spots left at the Spring Groups, while two qualifiers will be found later in the Spring at BLAST Showdown.
