BLAST adds additional open qualifiers for Paris Major
Community feedback leads to increased opportunities for teams to showcase their skills and compete for a spot in the Paris Major.
The tournament organizers from BLAST have announced changes to the upcoming Regional Major Rankings (RMR) Qualifiers for the Paris Major. Following feedback from the community, BLAST has decided to add an additional open qualifiers for the European, North American, and South American regions.
The new format will include two open qualifiers over a three-day period, with teams who have already qualified for the closed qualifier playing for seeding on the second day. The closed qualifier will also be shortened by one day. The North American and South American qualifier dates have been moved forward by one week.
BLAST stated on their Twitter account, “After listening to the community and its feedback, we have decided to make a few changes to the upcoming RMR Qualifiers.”
The move was welcomed by the community, with many fans praising BLAST for being responsive to feedback and for making the event more inclusive for teams.
The additional open qualifier will provide more opportunities for teams to qualify for the Paris Major, which is set to arguably be the biggest CS:GO tournament of the year. With the changes, more teams will have the chance to showcase their skills and potentially earn a spot in the main event, where they will compete for a share of the $1,250,000 prize pool.
