B1ad3 before G2 match: They are really hungry for trophies
Is now the time for G2 to grab themselves a much-needed trophy?
G2 and NAVI have a lot in common.
Both teams possess one of the best players in history in Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, one of the best talents in the game in Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Valeriy “b1t” Vakhovskiy, and both teams also have one of the biggest fanbases in CS:GO. However, one aspect where they differ from each other is their number of trophies.
G2’s last trophy: 1012 days ago (December 2019)
NAVI in that period: 11 trophies
In a post-match interview conducted by ESL, NAVI head coach, Andrii "B1ad3" Horodenskyi, also touches on the matter saying that "they are really hungry for trophies".
- G2 are really nice. From what I saw, Vitality was in good shape, and now they had more time to prepare more things. G2 was really confident also. G2 are a team that plays a lot from confidence, NiKo, huNter - they didn't win a lot of trophies, but they thrive for this, they're really hungry for trophies. The potential for them is there to win. These types of players are the ones who can win trophies, like m0NESY, NiKo, huNter-, so I think it's more about this. I think they are in a momentum now.
Tech issues
B1ad3 also discussed yesterday’s many tech issues in NAVI’s match vs Heroic, which caused a two-hour-long delay.
- It's very hard for any player. You are very tilted after the round with jabbi on banana. We work a lot on this with our performance coach and with our psychologist, before the game, and during our practices. We always must be capable of finding our balance, we call it optimal, let's say like when you go to battle, your battle mode, you need to have your optimal battle mode on. You must know how to do this always and you must be professional.

A matchup between Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and Nikola “NiKo” Kovac – two of Counter-Strike’s best players in history – will always be a thrill to witness for all CS:GO enthusiasts. It’s a duel that we will experience in one of tomorrow’s quarterfinals at ESL Pro League Season 16. The matchup is set to go live at 19:00 (CET).
