Astralis part ways with head coach: A profile with different skills is needed
Two CCT events were everything Peter “casle” Ardenskjold achieved to win with Astralis.
Peter “casle” Ardenskjold will no longer stand behind the Astralis roster going forward, as the Danish organization announces the departure of the 37-year-old head coach.
The former Masonic coach leaves Astralis after more than 14 months with the organization, where he started out coaching Astralis Talent. However, now Astralis needs “a profile with different skills”.
- The demands here are high, and we are constantly evolving both as a team and organization. After analyzing the fall season and working to identify the future needs on and around the team, the conclusion is that a profile with different skills than Peter's is needed. We are acting on this now so that we can hit the ground running in 2024,” Kasper Straube, Sports Director at Astralis comments.
Kasper Straube states that the process of finding a replacement for casle is already underway, with HLTV indicating that the former Heroic coach Richard “Xizt” Landström is one of the strongest candidates.
- Overall, we are in a very good position and enter 2024 with a strong belief that we can compete at the highest level. This requires, among other things, finding the right coach to lead the team, and that process is underway," Straube says.
Astralis ended up winning two tournaments under casle, although both of them were smaller online events namely CCT North Europe Series 3 and CCT South Europe Series 4.
