Astralis ease past G2 after dominant showing
device and company eliminate G2 through a clean sweep.
Astralis continue their lower bracket round in BLAST Premier Fall Finals after beating Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and the rest of G2. The Danes secured the series through two strong performances on Inferno (22-19) and Dust2 (16-2).
G2 showed no respect for Astralis’ map pick, by completely dominating the Danish team on Inferno. A beautiful pistol round by François “AmaNEk” Delaunay kicked off an impressive CT-side that ended in an 11-4 halftime lead.
Astralis would not surrender, even though being totally crushed in the first half. The Danes gave G2 a taste of their own medicine by setting up a perfect CT-side defence led by star AWPer Nicolai “device” Reedtz who had a rating of 1.52 in the second half, and after 30 rounds the score was completely even at 15-15.
Overtime was needed, and here the Danes showed their strong experience by taking their strong form into the OT. The Danes closed out the map 22-19.
The second map on Dust2 was a complete slaughter. It looked like the long and close Inferno battle, wrecked G2 by discarding all energy among the French roster. G2 had no answers for Astralis and the Danes could with ease cruise through the French-Balkan mixed team. Gla1ve’s troops concluded the series 16-2.
