Apeks ready for IEM Sydney 2023
Two overtime wins gave way for the Norwegian Organization to secure a spot in Sydney.
In the closed EU qualifier for IEM Sydney, Apeks and 9INE have been the two strongest rosters. The two faced each other in the upper final of the closed qualifier last night.
On both Ancient and Vertigo, Apeks managed to win 19-17 to secure the spot Down Under. On Ancient 9INE had to play the overtime rounds with their coach Piotr "nawrot" Nawrocki as Kacper "Kylar" Walukiewicz had problems with connecting to the server. The change of personnel happened at the score of 16-15 in favor of 9INE who went on to lose 17-19.
For Apeks the match was another showcase of their resilience after coming back from deficits in several maps during the tournament.
There is still one EU spot left for IEM Sydney. 9INE will have another shot at qualifying when they face Vladislav 'nafany' Gorshkov's BetBoom later today.
