Ancient introduced in upcoming IEM Summer event
The new map has been announced to feature in all upcoming ESL Pro Tour events
After the announcement on May 3 of Train being removed from the official map pool, everyone looked too Ancient to be the new map to replace Train. ESL has just announced that Ancient will in fact take place as a part of the official map pool in the upcoming ESL Pro Tour events.
The change of the official map pool is the first to have taken place since Vertigo replaces Cache back in March 2019. IEM summer will be the first big tournament to feature Ancient, and with big teams attending it will undoubtedly be a crazy and fun time to follow the professional Counter-Strike teams as they learn the new meta on Ancient.
IEM Summer is set to take place from June 3-13. The event will feature six from the top 10 best teams in the world as well as 11 teams inside the top 20. The event has a prize pool of $250.000 on offer for the best performing teams at the event.
