Analyst asked to leave the studio in a bizarre incident at ESL Impact Season 4
Hege "Hedje" Botnen did not want to see any more of her fellow analyst Sudhen "Bleh" Wahengbam in the studio after he criticized a team losing 13-6, 13-2.
The amount of awkwardness in the studio was almost intolerable in the post-match segment of the Group A Elimination match between HSG fe and FlyQuest RED at ESL Impact League Season 4 Finals in Valencia, Spain.
The North American team FlyQuest RED had just delivered a disappointing effort against HSG fe losing 13-6, 13-2. Starplayer for FlyQuest RED Vivienne "BiBiAhn" Quach made a tweet after the match calling FlyQuest RED’s performance “embarrassing”.
In the studio Sudhen "Bleh" Wahengbam called out FlyQuest RED on their bad LAN performance, stating that the team did not show up on the server and that they fell flat in an abysmal performance, where they failed to live up to the expectations.
A statement that was too much for fellow analyst Hege "Hedje" Botnen, who outright told her colleague to leave the studio.
- Can you leave the studio? I don’t appreciate that. These FlyQuest RED girls have been battling their fucking brains out all season and have been flawless in North America and because they can’t get their nerves on check on LAN you are just shitting on them out of nowhere. You go play!
Bleh: I’m not going anywhere.
Hedje: You go and feel what it is like.
Bleh: Well, guess who showed their nerves then? Or didn’t show their nerves rather. HSG.
Hedje: I don’t think, that you know what you are talking about. They should be celebrated!
Bleh: For losing?
Hedje: They should be still celebrated. They qualified to come here and they have been playing brilliantly throughout the entire season. If someone doesn’t deserve to be here, it is you!
Bleh. Okay... Feisty!
Hedje: Yeah. But I am right. And you know it.
None of Sudhen "Bleh" Wahengbam, Hege "Hedje" Botnen, or host Sam "Tech Girl" Wright have commented on the incident.
The 36-year-old Norwegian Hege "Hedje" Botnen has been working as a talent since she ended her active playing career in 2021. Sudhen "Bleh" Wahengbam, also 36-year-old, has been working as a commentator and analyst since 2016.
