"A mystery": NAVI coach b1ad3 sheds light on the future of s1mple
The three-time HLTV Player of the Year has only played three competitive maps since the release of Counter-Strike 2 last year.
What's next for Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev?
A question many people in the Counter-Strike scene ask themselves. Right now, the Ukrainian superstar find himself on the bench at his long-standing employee Natus Vincere, with his future hanging in uncertainty.
One of the individuals close to s1mple, NAVI head coach, Andrey “b1ad3” Gorodenskiy, has offered his take on the situation around the star AWPer in the newest episode of HLTV Confirmed, where he calls the entire thing a “mystery”.
- Actually, it’s a mystery, b1ad3 starts off before continuing:
- If people want to take him into their team, they need to know that he’s in a good shape. So he needs to play Counter-Strike constantly. They need to be sure about this – of course, it’s s1mple – but if you’re going into the season, you must give it time to build a roster around him and give it time. At least to give time to s1mple because he’s a great player and he needs time to get into shape again – also in CS2, which he was hating a lot from the beginning.

"Two options for s1mple"
In the podcast, b1ad3 explains that he sees two possible options for s1mple going forward.
- It's also about how he sees his own development from this point and what he wants to build and in what role. I haven’t spoken about this with him. There is a lot of aspects here.
- It’s like there are two options. Either he will join some team that builds a roster behind him, or a scenario that he will come back to NAVI at some point in the future.
