Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut has yet to play against his long-standing rival Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev in Counter-Strike 2.
However, that could change at the BLAST.tv Austin Major if both Vitality and FaZe make it to the Grand Final in Texas.
Speaking to Pley, ZywOo says the prospect of that clash would be “exceptional.”
– We’re really excited to play against him. It would be exceptional to meet s1mple in the final, and to have Messi and Ronaldo on the server as you said. We still have a long road to the final, but let’s see.
In our talk with ZywOo, the Frenchman also reflected on s1mple’s return and the impact his presence has had on the scene since joining FaZe.
– It’s good for both the community and the pro scene to have the old Top 1 s1mple back. Even though he took a two-year break, he can still play a Major and be in the playoffs and win some games by himself. It’s good for everyone to see that.

No complaints
Vitality have been placed in what many call the tougher side of the playoff bracket, featuring top dogs such Spirit, MOUZ, and the Copenhagen Major winners from NAVI.
But ZywOo isn’t fazed. In fact, he welcomes the challenge.
– Like we say at every Major, we need to beat anyone anyway. I don’t care about which bracket we’re in. It would just be more remarkable if we win the trophy in this way. I’m acutally kind of happy to have these brackets, to be honest, to might beat Spirit, NAVI and maybe FaZe in the final. I actually love it.
– I want to show everyone… like the Paris Major was a bit ‘shaky’ for us because we were playing Into the Breach, Apeks and GamerLegion. But now we can we beat some really good teams.
