Earlier today, the French-majority squad lifted the IEM Melbourne 2025 trophy after a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Falcons in the Grand Final.
With the win, Vitality not only claimed their fourth consecutive title this year but also secured the prestigious ESL Grand Slam along with the $1 million bonus prize.
The Grand Final in Melbourne was anything but easy for Vitality. After a crushing 13-2 win on Inferno, Falcons came storming back on Dust2 to level the series. Vitality regained the lead with a 13-9 victory on Train, only to see Falcons once again force a decider by edging out Mirage 13-10.
Triple overtime to finish it off
It all came down to Nuke, where Falcons initially held the upper hand. However, Vitality clawed back from a 6-12 deficit to eventually triumph 22-20 in triple overtime, closing out one of the most thrilling finals of the year.
Superstar Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut once again led from the front, topping the scoreboard with 110 kills and a 1.34 rating across the five maps. His heroics were rewarded with the tournamentβs MVP medal.
With todayβs triumph, Vitality extends their incredible winning streak to 21 matches and cements their position as the best team in the world right now
