MOUZ delivered a statement performance in Budapest, energizing the home crowd as they secured a 2-1 victory over Falcons to claim a spot in the playoffs. With Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás playing on home soil, the Hungarian fans created an atmosphere that pushed MOUZ forward from the very first rounds.
Mirage began with MOUZ firmly in control, and torzsi set the tone early with a dominant AWP display on the CT side. He repeatedly shut down Falcons’ set-ups, giving MOUZ a comfortable lead. But Falcons were far from finished. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, who has been one of the standout players of the Budapest Major, found his rhythm and delivered two momentum-shifting 3Ks. Supported by Maxim “kyousuke” Lukin and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, Falcons surged back and stole the opening map.
On Inferno, MOUZ once again came out the stronger side. This time, however, they kept their composure in the second half and repeatedly dismantled Falcons’ T-side. The German-based organization showcased far more structure and teamwork, while Falcons leaned heavily on individual plays. MOUZ’s consistency carried them across the finish line and pushed the match to a decider.
Nuke thriller seals Hungary’s heroes a spot in the playoffs
The tension peaked on Nuke, where MOUZ delivered yet another impressive CT side, securing an 8-4 lead before winning their sixth pistol round out of six in the series. Everything pointed toward a comfortable MOUZ victory, but Falcons’ individual firepower refused to fade. Impact frags came from all five players, punishing MOUZ’s failed conversions and breathing life back into the map.
Rounds traded back and forth as the score tightened, but when Falcons needed consecutive wins at 10-12, they couldn’t come through. A composed final push from the international roster sealed a 13-10 win, sending the Hungarian crowd into celebration.
With the victory, MOUZ become the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs, joining FURIA, Spirit, and Vitality. Their playoff run begins Thursday, and with a crowd like this behind them, few teams will want to face them next.
