Astralis’ shock defeat to NIP at the opening round looked like a one-off loss, owing to their confident victory against OG last night. However, in today’s matchup against BIG, something wasn’t in order for the otherwise dominant Danish, as the Germans crushed Astralis over two maps, eliminating them from the event.
BIG was clearly the better team on the server with tabseN and his troops taking advantage of rare and uncommon mistakes from the Astralis side. The Germans locked down their own map pick by winning a close battle on Vertigo through a powerful T-side first half. However, the most impressive achievement was their crushing 16-8 win on Inferno, being a map where the Danes have mastered the scene, but that didn’t matter for syrsoN who stepped up huge for his team, by top fragging them towards the victory.
