PGL Announces Three-Year Extension for CS2 Tournaments at BTarena in Cluj-Napoca

Tournament organizer PGL has announced a long-term agreement to continue hosting Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) events at the BTarena in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, for the next three years.

This formal announcement follows an initial post made yesterday by the Mayor of Cluj-Napoca on Instagram. The official press release from PGL confirms the agreement, establishing the city as a recurring location on the global CS tournament calendar.

Viewership Growth and Future Plans

The three-year extension follows the PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 and 2026 tournaments. PGL cited a notable increase in audience engagement as a factor in the renewal.

According to the organization, the 2026 edition reached a peak of 882,400 concurrent viewers, representing a 63.5% increase compared to the PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 Grand Final. PGL stated that the ongoing agreement will ensure international Counter-Strike 2 competitions continue to take place at the BTarena annually.

Statements from PGL

In the press release, PGL highlighted the connection between the city, the arena, and the Counter-Strike community.

“We are thrilled to continue our journey in Cluj-Napoca,” said Silviu Stroie, PGL CEO. “The energy inside BTarena and the support from the local community have been exceptional. We look forward to building on this success over the next three years.”

PGL noted its goal is to maintain a high-quality live experience for fans and players. Specific dates, participating teams, and ticketing information for future editions will be announced at a later date.
