The Brazilian AWPer heaped praise onto paiN’s in-game leader.

One of the elimination matches of the day featured paiN Gaming defeating 3DMAX, after pulling off a 4-11 comeback on Nuke.

The AWPer of paiN, nqz, a key figure of their comeback picking up 17 kills with the sniper, stopped by the Pley microphone after their win.

“I’ve become much more mature”

We asked nqz what changed since his previous stint on 9z, given his Major glow-up. He was one of the highest rated players of Stage 2 with a 1.29 rating, and now holds a team-high 1.15 rating.

  • I think there’s a total difference. In 9z, I would play on my feeling and now I’ve become much more mature and experienced. Now, I’m better at understanding the game and what the team needs from me.

The 20-year-old expanded on his improvement in form, when we asked about the captain of paiN, biguzera.

  • [Biguzera] is phenomenal… He’s now putting me in really good situations so I can shine with the AWP. There’s things that you guys watching from outside the game don’t see, but inside the server, he’s a beast.

Tune into to paiN’s decider match tomorrow to see if they will make it to the playoffs of the Austin Major.
