Karrigan after making playoffs: “This is my favorite position, nothing to lose”

FaZe defeated Passion 2-0 in a contested war to make top 8.

FaZe defeated Passion UA 2-0 in a contested war to make top 8.

“If you asked me in China, where we lost to FUT [if we would make the major playoffs], I would have laughed,” were Finn “karrigan” Andersen’s words after securing a top 8 spot at the major. “Now, we’re here, let’s have some fun with the best teams of the world.”

Passion UA came from the 0-2 pool in this Stage 3, and were one round away in each map to making it to overtime. It slipped away on Overpass, despite winning two rounds off of ninja defuses.

“We’re gonna be kicking ourselves for not getting it over the line,” said Passion UA’s coach after the game. “But we have to be happy about what we achieved at the end of the season.”

Jakub ‘jcobbb’ Pietruszewski was the highest fragger across the both maps, continuing his form from Stage 2. Crucially, Helvijs ‘broky’ Saukants recovered some form for this match, despite missing a crucial shot in the closing stages of Mirage.

Vladyslav ‘Kvem’ Korol was the standout for Passion UA, keeping them alive until the final moments of Mirage.
