k0nfig Parts Ways With Ninjas in Pyjamas

Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke has officially parted ways with Ninjas in Pyjamas after a year with the team. The Danish rifler joined NiP in early 2023, bringing much-needed firepower and skill. His time with the organization ended in February 2024 following the team’s disappointing exit from the PGL Major Copenhagen Europe RMR A, where NiP finished in last place, missing a Major spot for the first time since 2018.

k0nfig’s year with NIP: A mixed performance

During his time at NIP, k0nfig helped the team reach the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, where they fell just short of a playoff spot. However, after this brief success, the team’s performance began to decline, with the failure to qualify for the Major marking the turning point in his career with NiP.

TSM move that almost happened

In the summer of 2023, k0nfig came close to joining Team SoloMid (TSM) alongside Benjamin “blameF” Bremer. However, the deal fell apart when blameF chose to sign with fnatic instead, leaving k0nfig without a team for a while.

What’s next for k0nfig?

It’s been over a year since k0nfig’s last competitive match, and it’s been very quiet around the Danish rifler, who posted this last summer on Twitter.

“I have been absent from SoMe and the competitive environment for some time now. It’s been so calm and my mind and body had needed silence from both. The things you learn about yourself during down-time, when it’s all quiet is astonishing.”

Last night he made his first post since last summer, which could indicate, that he could be back soon with a new team.
