NAVI make the playoffs of the Major with a 3-2 record after beating B8.
alex666 said he is “proud” of B8’s performance despite falling at the last hurdle befre playoffs. He mentioned that these losses will make him better as a leader.
He added that he was happy with his team’s performance on Train, taking NAVI the distance, despite being one of their weaker maps.
NAVI surprise B8 on Ancient
NAVI destroyed B8 on Ancient 13-4, despite being the map that B8 defeated Falcons on in the opener.
Makazze and w0nderful shut down B8’s slow style across the map. None of their plays were working.
At 2-8, B8 rescued the half with well-constructed B hits. Dmytro ‘esenthial’ Tsvir found an opening kill on cave, and Artem ‘kensizor’ Kapran got exit kills that broke NAVI’s economy.
That allowed them to rescue the half to 4-8.
However, NAVI’s reign of terror only got stronger in the second half. Every site hit they attempted worked, with Mihai ‘iM’ Ivan and Valeriy ‘b1t’ Vakhovskiy finding entries and closers to the rounds with ease.
NAVI come out on top of Train brawl
This map was full of scrappy 2v4s that went either way.
The first half was 6-6, with NAVI winning the CT-pistol in the next.
Then, chaos really kicked off when b1t and Ihor ‘w0nderful’ Zhdanov won a 2v3 on an eco. Then, the game was a story of different clutches that ended in an overtime.
B8 had kensizor finding opening kills everywhere, while b1t and w0nderful found a way to bring back many situations,
Round 24 had alex666 in a 1v1 against AleksiB that he won to force overtime.
In overtime, NAVI cleanly got 2 rounds, while B8 repsonded with a single T round.
NAVI was up 15-14, and made a perfect call to execute A after feigning B pressure.
Closing thoughts from B8
alex666 was positive about the tournament, and admitted their losses to elite teams. He said that they exploited their map pool, and that they needed to improve CT side Train.
