In this 2-0 defeat of Vitality, m0NESY kept an 11-3 record against ZywOo in his MVP campaign at BLAST Rivals. In his performance, he also managed a 2v4 ace clutch against a Vitality that was running away with Inferno.
Team Vitality and Falcons played each other in the semi-finals of BLAST Rivals Season 2. The last series with these two teams was at ESL Pro League Season 22, where Vitality beat Falcons 3-0.
Vitality opted once again to go for Inferno, while Falcons opted for Nuke. Inferno had Vitality in a strong position from the start.
Despite losing the opening pistol, Vitality’s T-side looked on point against Falcons. They often went into understaffed bombsites, forcing Falcons to save repeatedly. Still, Falcons mustered 5 rounds going into their T half, largely thanks to kyousuke.
m0NESY gets an ace clutch, turning the series
Vitality started strong on their CT-side, gaining a lead and looking to close out the game. The map took a huge turn when m0NESY managed an ace clutch on low HP to break Vitality’s economy.
Despite Falcons’ loss of the following round, they went on the comeback trail to force overtime. There, m0NESY continued his rising form to close out the match.
Vitality looked unlike themselves on Nuke, as Falcons ran circles on their CT side. There was a 7-1 lead for the Falcons on the T side, with only flameZ fighting back.
The tides changed somewhat when ZywOo got a ninja defuse in a favorable situation for Falcons. Vitality grinded out 5 CT rounds.
Falcons secure their second grand final spot
On the side switch, Falcons took another pistol round for their overall 10-2 record in pistol rounds in Hong Kong.
Vitality tried to make a comeback, but well-timed aggression from kyxsan and kyousuke on A site clamped down on Vitality’s offense and their dreams of winning in Hong Kong.
It was a valiant effort from ZywOo in the closing stages, becoming the highest-rated player on Nuke.
Falcons will go on to play FURIA for the trophy, a matchup which they last lost 2-0 at IEM Chengdu.
