CS2 Update Addresses Gameplay Issues, Map Fixes

Valve has released a follow-up update for Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), coming shortly after a significant patch introduced two days prior. The new update primarily targets gameplay mechanics, miscellaneous issues, and map-specific problems reported by the community.

Gameplay Fixes

Several gameplay-related bugs were addressed in this update:

  • Fixed a scenario where weapons could fire prematurely when redeployed immediately after reloading.
  • Resolved an issue affecting movement input responsiveness at very high frame rates when adjusting view angles.
  • Corrected unintended behavior that allowed players to achieve higher-than-intended velocities through air strafing.
  • Implemented a speculative fix intended to resolve a rare issue causing the dropped bomb to appear in incorrect locations.

Miscellaneous Improvements

In addition to gameplay adjustments, Valve made several miscellaneous fixes and improvements:

  • Adjustments and bug fixes involving first-person weapon animations and audio effects.
  • Corrected positioning issues affecting weapon nametags and StatTrak counters.
  • Addressed visual and material issues associated with the AWP sniper rifle.
  • Speculative fix for a rare visual bug causing holstered weapons to appear attached to the currently deployed weapon.
  • Fixed an error causing CS2 music kits to revert back to the older CS:GO music kits.
  • Resolved a user interface bug in voting, occasionally causing the results from one team’s vote to incorrectly appear for the other team.

Map Changes

Two specific map fixes were included in the update:

  • Inferno: Closed a gap located at the first stack near bombsite B.
  • Overpass: Fixed clipping issues on the stairs near the Terrorist fountain area.

This update follows closely after a more extensive patch earlier this week, which introduced significant map adjustments, animation updates, and gameplay changes. Valve has not indicated if further immediate updates are planned.
