New details have surfaced about the upcoming Apex Legends holiday event, set to begin on December 16, 2025. The leaks reveal a festive-themed update packed with new Wild Cards, exclusive care package weapons, returning cosmetics, and special PvE elements featuring the return of Spectres. This event will close out Season 27: Amped with a mix of high-action gameplay and nostalgic skins.
Spectres guarding airdrops
For the first time since their debut in the Gaiden event, Spectres will return to the battlefield. During the holiday event, they will guard special airdrops, forcing players to fight off these robotic NPCs before claiming the powerful loot inside. This PvE twist will only appear during the event window starting December 16.
Care package weapon rotation (Dec 16)
According to the leaks, Wild Card mode will feature new care package weapons and possible event exclusives:
- Confirmed weapons: Bocek, Alternator, and Pulse Blade
- Possible additions: Mythic Flatline and Mythic R-301
- Possible melee drops: Grand Slam Bat and Power Sword
These limited-time weapons will only be available during the holiday event and are expected to come with unique festive VFX and custom audio effects.
New Wild Card abilities
Three new Wild Card abilities are also coming to the event:
- Shield Cells completely restore shields on use.
- Gain the ability to self-revive when an ally knocks an enemy.
- Silence enemies for 5 seconds after cracking their shields.
These temporary modifiers are designed to create fast, chaotic, and high-risk fights, giving each match a distinct feel.
Returning skins and cosmetics
Ice Cold Vantage skin
The fan-favorite Ice Cold Vantage skin will return on December 16 as part of the holiday rotation. It will likely be available both in the direct purchase store and as part of an event bundle.
Awakening event skins
The Awakening collection skins will return to the shop on November 11, alongside a limited-time Recolor Shop featuring:
- Shell Shocked – Gibraltar
- Tomb Robber – Prowler
- Totemic Might – Crypto
- Unloader – R-99
Sun Burst Wingman and pack bundles
The Sun Burst Wingman skin will return on November 25, alongside a set of Apex Pack bundles:
- 100 Packs – 6700 AC
- 20 Packs – 1000 AC
Additionally, 2 Heirloom Packs will be sold on the same date for 150 Mythic Shards each.
What to expect during the event
The December 16 holiday event is shaping up to be one of the most feature-packed updates of the year.
