TYLOO outlast 9z’s Cache comeback to stay alive in Beijing

TYLOO led 10-2 at the half on Cache, watched 9z take ten of the next 12 rounds and still won it in overtime in front of their home crowd.

TYLOO beat 9z 2-0 in the Group B lower bracket at IEM Beijing 2026 on Tuesday, taking their own Inferno pick 13-5 and 9z’s Cache 16-13 after overtime. 9z are out in 13th to 16th place, and it is their seventh series defeat in a row.

The win matters more to TYLOO than most. They lost 13-6, 13-7 to MOUZ on Monday, and the forfeit in Lisbon cost them a place at the Major in Singapore, which makes this home event the biggest stage left in their season. A week ago they beat 9z 2-1 in Bucharest with coach zhokiNg in the lineup. This time Jee was back on the AWP.

A 10-2 lead slips away

Cache was 9z’s pick, and for one half it went badly wrong for them. JamYoung opened TYLOO’s CT side with a four-kill retake on the pistol round, and TYLOO went into the break 10-2 up.

The comeback started with HUASOPEEK. He won the second pistol round with four kills, and 9z ran off seven rounds in a row to 10-9. Moseyuh, who went 13-34 against MOUZ, stopped the run with a four-kill round of his own. TYLOO reached match point at 12-9, but 9z won the next three and forced overtime.

TYLOO lost the first round of overtime and then won four straight, with Jee’s AWP picking up the early kill in the last one. Moseyuh finished Cache 25-18 with 78.5 ADR, the most kills on the map.

The crowd did its part in a quiet way. When TYLOO set up a sneaky play, the arena stayed silent until it had worked, and the casters said it was like TYLOO playing six against five.

Mercury turns Inferno

The first map did not start well for TYLOO either. They kept walking into 9z crossfires through the smokes on B, and 9z took an early lead with four rounds in a row. In-game leader Mercury broke the streak with a four-kill round on A, and from there TYLOO finished their T side 8-4 and won five of six rounds after the switch. JamYoung went 18-9 with 109.0 ADR on the map.

Seven in a row for 9z

9z’s last series win came on 14 October, 2-0 against Aurora at the Thunderpick World Championship. Since then they have lost to Falcons and Aurora there, Vitality, MOUZ and TYLOO in Bucharest, and BetBoom and TYLOO in Beijing.

luchov is at the centre of it. The rifler went 3-17 on Inferno and 19-39 over the series. dgt did most of the work on Cache with 24-19 and 96.1 ADR.

In-game leader max said in the post-match interview on ESL’s broadcast that the trip has taken its toll.

we are one month and a half far from home, so that’s not easy. And we are not winning, so it’s more difficult

He said the team will rest and talk with coach BIT about what to change before the Major in Singapore, where 9z start in Stage 1.

TYLOO are now sure of at least $25,000 and play Team Liquid in the lower bracket semi-final on Wednesday. Liquid dropped down after a 2-0 defeat to PARIVISION, and the loser of that match goes home.

MOUZ seal their playoff place

In the other Group B match, MOUZ beat BetBoom Team 2-0 in the upper bracket semi-final and are through to the playoffs. They won BetBoom’s own Ancient pick 13-6 and then needed overtime on their Mirage, which they took 16-14.

The AWP made the difference. torzsi went 38-17 over the series and 17-5 on Ancient, where xelex added 20-9 with 116.8 ADR. On the other side, zorte finished 23-35 with 48.5 ADR.

Mirage was level all the way: 6-6 at the half, 12-12 after regulation. d1Ledez kept BetBoom in it with 25-21 and 96.4 ADR on the map, but xertioN (27-22) and torzsi (21-12) carried MOUZ through, and they won four of the six overtime rounds.

MOUZ have won both their series in Beijing 2-0 and face PARIVISION in the upper final, where the group winner earns a direct place in the semi-finals. BetBoom drop to the lower bracket semi-final against Aurora, who eliminated G2 earlier on Tuesday. We follow the rest of the group on our IEM Beijing 2026 page.
