Counter-Strike 2 Update: Dead Hand Collection and Map Adjustments

New skins and gloves have been released in the Dead Hand Collection.

Valve has released a new cosmetic update for Counter-Strike 2. The patch introduces the Dead Hand Collection, which includes community-designed weapon finishes and 22 new glove designs. The update also implements the Dead Hand Terminal as a new weekly drop mechanic.

The Dead Hand Collection

The Dead Hand Collection contains 17 new weapon finishes created by community contributors. Notable items include the Covert AWP | Queen’s Gambit and the Glock-18 | Fully Tuned. As shown in the provided images, the skins utilize the lighting and texturing capabilities of the Source 2 engine.

22 New Gloves

The update introduces 22 new glove finishes as rare special items. This marks the first major release of new gloves since the Operation Broken Fang update in CS:GO. The new designs apply to Driver, Specialist, and Sport Glove styles. Examples include the Sport Gloves | Violet Beadwork, Specialist Gloves | Pillow Punchers, and Driver Gloves | Dragon Fists.

The Dead Hand Terminal

Items from the Dead Hand Collection are acquired through the Dead Hand Terminal rather than traditional cases. The Terminal is available as a random weekly drop or can be purchased on the Steam Community Market.

When a player unseals the Terminal, it reveals a specific item and a set purchase price. Players have the option to re-roll the offer up to five times. If the final offer is declined, the Terminal is removed from the inventory. This system offers a direct purchase model rather than a randomized loot box mechanic.

Map Tweaks

The update includes minor adjustments to two maps:

  • Dust II: A pixel gap in a door Outside Long was fixed to improve visibility consistency.
  • Alpine: The map was updated to the most recent version from the Community Workshop.
