Media: Astralis bought by former employee

Astralis has a new owner. Independent journalist Richard Lewis reports that Fusion Esports Group has completed a takeover of the Danish organization, with Jakob Lund Kristensen listed as the company’s director. The transaction was finalized on September 5 according to filings cited in his report.

Danish company records show Fusion Esports Group ApS was registered on the same day, is directed by Kristensen, and sits under his holding company JLK Holding ApS. Kristensen previously co-founded Astralis and BLAST, and earlier led Copenhagen Wolves, which makes this a return to familiar stewardship for one of Counter-Strike’s most famous brands.

According to Richard Lewis the Fusion Esports bid was seen as the best for “continuity.”

Recent changes

It has been a little over a week since Astralis announced the return of Emil “Magisk” Reif in place of Martin “stavn” Lund, who has stepped away due to “personal circumstances”.

Astralis’ next event with the new roster and ownership is FISSURE Playground 2 in Serbia, which starts this week.
