BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals Preview

The second edition of BLAST Bounty LAN Finals will kick off on Thursday, August 14th.

The second edition of BLAST Bounty LAN Finals will kick off on Thursday, August 14th.

The BLAST Bounty is a CS2 tournament with a bounty-based format, in which each team starts out with a given bounty on their head, depending on their ranking.

The lower-seeded teams choose their opponents from the higher seeds, and the winner takes the bounty of the loser, adding to their prize money and own bounty, according to BLAST’s website.

In addition, teams have the ability to wager an extra amount to add stakes to their match.

Changes in this season include allowing wagers to only affect prize money instead of bounty, as well as a change to seeding. Teams will keep their seeding throughout the Bounty from its beginning, as per BLAST’s announcement.

Astralis and Liquid prevail to reach LAN final

The online stage concluded last week, with the likes of NAVI (#5), FURIA (#6) and FaZe (#8) already eliminated.

The LAN portion of the event will begin with Aurora (#11), Virtus.pro (#17), Astralis (#9) and Team Liquid (#26) choosing their opponent, in that order, to play a BO3 series against one of the four favorites. These include Grand Slam and Major-winning Team Vitality (#1), and recent IEM Cologne champions Team Spirit (#2)

Also waiting are Cologne and Major finalists, MOUZ (#3) and TheMongolZ (#4), respectively.

A post on BLAST’s X account revealed that the draft show will take place on August 13th live in Malta, where the matches will take place.

(Note: All team rankings are VRS-based and last updated on August 4th)
