MOUZ survives 4 match points to eliminate Liquid

Ultimate dropped 45 kills on the decider, but it was not enough to save Liquid.

Liquid has been eliminated from BLAST.tv Austin Major by MOUZ after playing rounds on a Mirage decider.

MOUZ, the #2 team at the Major, had only lost to Falcons and Vitality in the whole season, and have managed to live to fight another day.

MOUZ will go on to play at least one more series in the 1-2 pool, bouncing back after two close losses yesterday.

The series started on Dust2, Liquid’s map pick, where they only managed 8 rounds despite winning the pistol round in the first half and the force buy in the second half.

When weapons came out, MOUZ was dominant, and had a 9-1 run in the first half CT-side.

Spinx was the highlight, getting 21 kills over 21 rounds.

Liquid return fire on Nuke

On Nuke, it was a different story, as it was Liquid that dominated the opening half.

MOUZ won the pistol round, but Liquid went on their own run to close the half 8-4. They managed to close on the T-side flawlessly, bouncing back from map 1.

MOUZ was flat, as Liquid went on a 13-1 run since they lost the pistol to take MOUZ’s map pick.

NertZ was key in cleanly winning the T-side, getting 9 kills over 5 rounds.

Mirage decider

Mirage started off looking like a MOUZ dominion. The Israelis, xertioN and Spinx, combined for 26 kills in the first half.

Liquid managed to at least get 4 rounds going into CT-side, 3 of them were the last of the half.

Liquid made a huge comeback on CT-side, powered by their AWPer.

Ultimate got 30 kills in regulation to try to get the North American org across the line in Austin, and managed to get Liquid to 12-10..

They had 2 match points, but MOUZ won a key post plant to get to overtime.

Once in overtime, there was a crucial round where Spinx almost won a 1v3 with 2 crips headshots, but ultimate won the 1v1 thanks to the round timer.

After a contested overtime marathon, Liquid came out on top after having several opportunities.
