Valorant gun tier list

In VALORANT, gunplay sits at the center of everything – every clutch, comeback, and Elo-defining victory. While agents and abilities set Riot’s tactical shooter apart, knowing which steel to bring to the fight is essential to getting the job done.

With Patch 12.02 and the arrival of Season 2026, the meta has undergone a significant “vibe shift.” The introduction of the Bandit sidearm and the continued dominance of the Outlaw have completely reshaped economic rounds. This tier list cuts through the theory: what weapons actually work in high-stakes ranked games right now?

TL;DR – Quick VALORANT Weapon Overview

  • Best Overall Weapons: Operator. It remains the only weapon in the game that fundamentally forces opponents to alter their macro-routing and playstyle.
  • Best Eco Options: Stinger and Bandit. The Stinger dominates close-range time-to-kill (TTK), while the Bandit has completely overshadowed the Ghost for precision pistol rounds.
  • Meta Headline: Value scales with purpose. A perfectly utilized 300-credit Shorty inside a smoke or an 1100-credit Stinger can completely swing a round against full rifles.
  • The “Avoid” List: The Bucky and the Spectre. Both weapons have been heavily outclassed by cheaper, more efficient alternatives in their respective categories.

How the Valorant gun tier list works

The Valorant gun tier list evaluates guns based on effectiveness in ranked and pro play. guns are categorized as follows:

S-Tier: Guns that dominate the meta, often overpowered with high consistency
A-Tier: Strong guns that perform well in most scenarios but may require situational use
B-Tier: Decent options that can impact rounds but are less reliable
C-Tier: Situational or niche guns that need skill to be effective
D-Tier: guns generally avoided due to low effectiveness

The rankings consider accuracy, damage, versatility, and map performance, and may change as patches adjust gun stats

Best Valorant gun pairings

Choosing the right combination of weapons is essential to maximizing your effectiveness, especially in a meta where Regen Shields and Light Armor gambling are prevalent. Here are the recommended pairings for each class in the current season.

Primary Gun + Sidearm

Vandal + Shorty. The Vandal handles all standard engagements. If you are forced to dive into a smoke or hold a tight corner on a retake, the 300-credit Shorty guarantees a close-range burst.

Stinger + Classic – The absolute best value for low-credit rounds. The Stinger dominates the primary fight with its fire rate, while the free Classic right-click serves as a reliable finisher.

Bulldog + Bandit – Use the Bulldog’s ADS burst to hold long defensive sightlines with perfect accuracy. If pushed aggressively, the Bandit provides a highly lethal backup.

Odin + Classic – Because the Odin locks you into a slow, turret-like playstyle, keeping the free Classic ensures you have a mobile option for fast rotations without hurting your economy.

Operator + Shorty – The ultimate defensive setup. The Operator locks down the entire map, while the Shorty ensures you cannot be easily punished if an attacker manages to close the distance.

Melee + Any gun

These pairings give players a balanced loadout for multiple scenarios, from eco rounds to full buys, optimizing damage output and utility control across maps and roles

TL;DR – Valorant gun Tier List

Sidearms (Bandit, Sheriff, Shorty): The Bandit and Sheriff offer unmatched precision and economic scaling for eco rounds, completely overshadowing the Ghost. The 300-credit Shorty remains the ultimate pocket shotgun for smokes and tight corners.

SMGs (Stinger): The absolute best eco-weapon in the game. It boasts the fastest close-range time-to-kill, providing massive round-swinging potential and making the Spectre obsolete in terms of cost-efficiency.

Shotguns (Judge): Highly situational and relegated to lower tiers. They require enemies to blindly walk into your crosshair and offer zero viability for retakes or swinging open angles.

Rifles (Vandal, Phantom, Bulldog): The Vandal and Phantom remain the undisputed gold standard for full buys. The Bulldog serves as the premier budget rifle, offering a highly accurate, laser-like right-click ADS burst.

Sniper Rifles (Operator): The best weapon in the game. It is the only gun that forces the enemy team to completely alter their macro-routing, playstyle, and utility usage.

Machine Guns (Odin): A situational tool that dominates defensive halves with wallbang setups, but its severe movement penalty turns the user into a slow, easily punishable turret in open duels.

Melee (Knife): Reserved entirely for maximizing rotation speed or styling on the last remaining enemy. Not a viable combat tool.

This tier list is updated for Patch 12.11. Current standings strictly prioritize Cost-to-Value Scaling and Credit Efficiency. High-reliability weapons (S-Tier) are defined by how much guaranteed impact they bring relative to their price tag, allowing players to equalize rounds against full buys. Meanwhile, heavily situational tools (C-Tier) require very specific map geometries or enemy mistakes to be effective.
