Sentinels made their first roster moves of the offseason overnight, and FNATIC and Veqaj also went separate ways.
Sentinels have announced the departures of Jonah “JonahP” Pulice and Gurjiwan “Jerrwin” Gill, their first changes since a 2026 season that ended in the VCT Americas Play-Ins. Jerrwin had already said that he was allowed to explore options outside the organisation.
The club thanked both players on X. About Jerrwin, Sentinels wrote:
Thank you, Jerrwin. You were called up to do the impossible and never backed down. Proud to have you carry the torch of a Sentinels Duelist, wishing you the best going forward.
JonahP was described as “a veteran voice for the squad” who went “from rivals to part of the family”.
A season that never got going
The two arrived in March 2026 as part of a rebuild, but from different directions. JonahP was an established tier-one player who won Ascension in 2023 with The Guard and later collected regional titles with G2 Esports. Jerrwin was the rookie, signed from North American Challengers.
The results did not follow:
- Stage 1: 2-3 in Group Omega, just short of the playoffs
- Stage 2: 2-3 again, sending the team to the Play-Ins
- Play-Ins: 0-2 against ENVY, 2-0 against 2Game Esports, then 0-2 against KRÜ Esports to end the season
That left Sentinels without an international event this year. VLR lists Reduxx, johnqt and cortezia as the players still under contract.
FNATIC and Veqaj part after a turbulent year
In EMEA, FNATIC and Sylvain “Veqaj” Pattyn have agreed to part ways after almost a year together. The club called it “a turbulent year” in its farewell on X.
The French initiator joined FNATIC in November 2025 to fill the spot left by Chronicle, after making his tier-one debut with Gentle Mates. FNATIC finished second at SOOP Valorant League and fourth at Kickoff, which kept them out of Masters Santiago. Early in Stage 1, Veqaj stepped away from the starting lineup because of health issues. He spoke publicly about the absence in August and has since played in the Open Qualifier with Mandatory.
meco1e ends his career
Coach Cole “meco1e” Lewis also announced his retirement from competitive Valorant. He started as head coach of BackOutsideBoys, later coached Ambrosia, and worked as an assistant at LEVIATÁN and Evil Geniuses, where he briefly stepped up as head coach before being moved to the inactive staff in May. His last job was with the Challengers side Evictix.
The moves add to an offseason that has already seen NAVI drop their whole lineup and Aurora sign Derke, Boo and trexx, as well as G2 split with valyn.
