Has anyone won Valorant Champions twice? LOUD can make history in Shanghai

No organization has ever won VALORANT Champions twice. That could change on Sunday, and three individuals in the final four are also chasing a piece of history.

Five editions of VALORANT Champions have produced five different winners: Acend in 2021, LOUD in 2022, Evil Geniuses in 2023, EDward Gaming in 2024 and NRG in 2025. No organization has defended the title, and none has won it a second time.

With four teams left at Champions 2026 in Shanghai, the record book is open again. Team Vitality, LOUD, 100 Thieves and G2 Esports are playing for the title, with the grand final scheduled for Sunday, 18 October.

LOUD can become the first two-time champion organization

LOUD are the only team in the final four that has won Champions before. The organization beat OpTic Gaming 3-1 in the 2022 final in Istanbul and finished third at Champions 2023.

None of the players from the 2022 title-winning lineup are still on the team. LOUD’s current roster would win the organization’s second title, but each player’s first:

  • Flag of Brazil lukxo
  • Flag of Chile erde
  • Flag of Brazil tkzin
  • Flag of Portugal DaviH
  • Flag of Colombia Darker

LOUD face Team Vitality in the upper final on Friday, 16 October.

On the player side, one name stands alone. Ethan won Champions with Evil Geniuses in Los Angeles in 2023 and again with NRG in Paris in 2025, which makes him the only player to have won the event twice, based on the winning rosters listed on Liquipedia.

His bid for a third title ended this weekend, when NRG were eliminated by 100 Thieves in the lower bracket.

jawgemo can join him

Ethan’s old teammate jawgemo could join him. jawgemo was part of the Evil Geniuses lineup that won in 2023 and now plays for G2 Esports, who face 100 Thieves in the lower bracket on Friday.

If G2 win the title, jawgemo becomes the second player with two Champions titles.

100 Thieves coach Nbs is chasing a second title

The 100 Thieves bench also has history with the trophy. Head coach Nbs led Acend to the first VALORANT Champions title in Berlin in 2021. A 100 Thieves win would give him a second world title, five years after the first.

Chronicle has lost two finals

For Team Vitality’s Chronicle, Sunday could end a long wait. He was on the Gambit Esports team that lost the 2021 final 3-2 to Acend, and on the Fnatic lineup that lost the 2025 final 3-2 to NRG.

Vitality have never won Champions. Their best result before this year was a 9th-12th place finish in 2024.
