Following a series of leaks, Riot Games has officially released the full, high-quality reveal trailer for the highly anticipated Champions 2026 skin bundle on Twitter. This year’s collection brings a completely fresh mechanic to the Champions line, featuring a Phantom and a brand-new Fan melee.
Here is a complete breakdown of everything showcased in the reveal trailer, from the unique side-swapping gimmick to the expected release date and price.
The Gimmick: Alpha vs. Omega Side-Swapping
The biggest innovation in the Champions 2026 bundle is a dynamic side-swapping effect, similar to the mechanic previously seen in the Black Market bundle. Depending on whether you are playing on the Attacker or Defender side, your weapon will completely change its appearance to reflect VALORANT’s underlying “Alpha vs. Omega” lore.
- Alpha Form: A sleek, mostly white design that emits a radiant golden glow.
- Omega Form: A dark, aggressive black and red design that emits a glowing red aura.
While the trailer did not confirm exactly which color is tied to Attack or Defense, players can expect to start the match with one colorway, and when halftime hits, the weapon will automatically swap to the other design for the remainder of the game.
Progressive Kill Effects and the Champions Aura
As is tradition with the Champions line, these skins will visually evolve as you perform well and secure kills throughout a match. After getting a kill, the weapon develops dynamic gold and red cracked line textures across the body, enhancing the skin’s aura to make you feel the momentum in the moment. The weapon starts out looking fairly simple, but grows increasingly complex with visual effects as your kill count rises.
The Melee: The Champions Fan
After weeks of conflicting rumors and community speculation, the trailer officially confirmed that the Champions 2026 melee is a Fan.
The fan boasts incredibly slick animations. The trailer showcased a fluid spinning animation where the fan twirls around the agent’s finger before flipping backward into the hand (which could be the equip or inspect animation). It also features a traditional fanning inspect animation where the agent fans it toward themselves. Just like the Phantom, the Fan melee will also utilize the side-swapping gimmick, changing between the Gold/White and Red/Black designs depending on the half.
Dynamic Finishers and Release Info
Even the final kill finisher is dynamic this year. The cinematic finisher will actually change based on which side of the map you are playing on. The trailer revealed variations showing Sage dying to Viper on one side, and Viper dying to Sage on the other.
The bundle, which will also include a newly revealed Champions Gun Buddy, is slated to release next week after Patch 13.06 goes live. Based on the pricing of last year’s collection, players should expect the Champions 2026 bundle to cost roughly 6,600 VALORANT Points.
