Ayakashi collection brings Japanese folklore to life

The Valorant Ayakashi collection has officially arrived, bringing a haunting, spiritual vibe to the game. Unlike standard skins, this bundle focuses heavily on audio feedback. Each shot you fire with these weapons produces a different musical note, essentially allowing you to create a small melody while fighting. This is a huge shift from the usual repetitive firing sounds we see in most skin lines.

  • Reactive visual effects: The glowing flames on the weapons actually shift and change direction based on how your player moves.
  • Smoke materialization: Both the Phantom and Ghost skins use a custom animation where the gun appears to form out of dark smoke when you equip it.
  • Custom inspect: When you inspect the weapons, a Japanese-influenced trap beat plays in the background to match the mythological theme.

Introducing the first dual katana melee

The biggest draw for many players is the Kogitsune melee. This is the first time we have seen a dual-wielded short katana archetype in the game. It comes with a completely fresh set of animations for everything from the basic attacks to the way your character runs with them equipped.

During the inspect animation, the katanas are accompanied by traditional Japanese instrumental sounds. Because it uses a new archetype, the swings feel different than the standard tactical knife or the larger katanas we have seen in previous bundles like Oni.

Ayakashi bundle price and item list

This bundle is positioned as a premium collection, similar to the price point of the Magepunk or Reaver sets. If you want to grab the whole set, it will cost you a total of 7,160 VP. Buying the bundle is usually the better deal if you want the melee, as the knives alone typically cost a significant portion of the total bundle price.

VFX that reacts to player movement

The visual effects on the Ayakashi skins are highly reactive. The eyes on the Kitsune masks glow with an intensity that matches the color variant you have chosen. Furthermore, the shooting VFX are not static; they flow and trail behind the weapon depending on the velocity and direction of your character. This makes the weapons feel much more “alive” during high-speed entries or rotations on agents like Neon or Jett.
