Team Spirit Moves magixx to Bench, Targets Rising Star zweih

Team Spirit has officially benched Boris “magixx” Vorobiev, ending his nearly six-year tenure with the starting lineup.

Team Spirit has officially benched Boris “magixx” Vorobiev, ending his nearly six-year tenure with the starting lineup.

This marks a major shift for the organization, which, according to rumors, now sets its sights on 17-year-old Ivan “zweih” Gogin from Nemiga, following his breakout performance at the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

magixx joined Spirit in 2019 and was instrumental in the team’s rise through the global rankings. He helped them reach the semifinals at PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and played a critical role in their victory at the Perfect World Shanghai Major in 2024. Despite his legacy, recent months saw magixx struggle with consistency, and Spirit began to falter against elite opponents.

zweih expected to join Spirit

Spirit is now expected to bring in zweih, a young rifler known for his sharp aim and poise under pressure. At the Austin Major, he posted impressive ratings of 1.28 and 1.21 across different stages for Nemiga, catching the attention of top-tier teams. His style fits well with Spirit’s fast-paced system and could complement key players like donk, sh1ro, and zont1x.

Bringing zweih into the roster reflects Spirit’s ambition to stay at the top. With chopper’s leadership and a strong supporting cast, the addition of fresh firepower could push Spirit into another championship run. While magixx’s time with the team ends, his impact will remain part of Spirit’s foundation as they move forward with a new generation.
