Tournament organizer postpones qualifiers to refine the invitation process, update expected on March 4.

PGL has announced a delay in the closed qualifiers for PGL Bucharest 2025, affecting teams from Europe, North America, and South America. The tournament organizer stated that the decision was made to refine the invitation process to ensure consistency and fairness for all teams and to better comply with the Tournament Operations Requirements.

Qualifiers Affected Across Multiple Regions

Originally scheduled to begin on February 28, the European and South American qualifiers have been postponed. The North American and Asian qualifiers, which were set to start on March 4 and March 6, are also affected. A total of 32 teams in Europe and North America and 31 teams in South America were set to compete in the closed qualifier stage.

Teams such as BIG, BetBoom, OG, ENCE, fnatic, NIP, and Monte were set to participate in the tournament that was scheduled to start today.

PGL Acknowledges Disruption, Apologizes for Delay

PGL has apologized for the delay, acknowledging the disruption it may cause teams. In an official statement, the company expressed its commitment to avoiding similar issues in the future.

A new update regarding the qualifiers is expected to be announced on March 4, 2025.

2025 has not been kind to the Romanian tournament organizer who had to cancel the PGL Krakow 2027 event the same day as they had announced the tournament earlier this month.
