Mauisnake slams new-look MOUZ: It’s just a stop-gap before getting a new IGL in six months

Despite having an unprecedented amount of firepower, the CS analyst still believes MOUZ will have “a lot of difficulties this season.”

In a shocking transfer, MOUZ announced the benching of their profiled captain Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek, earlier this week.

The move saw Lotan “Spinx” Giladi being brought in from Vitality, with Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin revealed as MOUZ’s new in-game leader – a role he’s never taken on before.

The pressing question now is: What does this mean for MOUZ?

One individual who’s not optimistic about this new lineup is expert and analyst Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg.

In fact, he seems quite worried for the team.

– This MOUZ team will do badly. Brollan is not an in-game leader, guys. I’ve never been told that and never heard [anything about] that. They will have a lot of difficulties this season. I almost just see this whole roster as a stop-gap before they get a new in-game leader in June or July, Mauisnake said in the BLAST broadcast.

What came first – the strats or the stats?

Mauisnake dived deeper into the matter in the newest episode of Snake and Banter.

Here, the American analyst argued that while the new lineup boasts an unprecedented level of firepower on paper, it lacks the tactical foundation needed to succeed.

– They now have five guys who are supposed to be among the top 25 players in the world if you want to believe HLTV’s ranking. I don’t even think there’s ever been a better assembly of players [in terms of firepower], Mauisnake said.

He continued:

– If you want to take rating at face value then this should obviously be the most firepower team in history. But it’s not going to look like that on paper because the game is about tactics. The question that remains… What came first -The chicken or the egg? Here it’s like, what came first – the strats or the stats?

– I feel we’re going to find out very easily when MOUZ doesn’t actually get top four in every consecutive tournament from this point on that it’s, in fact, the tactics that are helping these players to even be in HLTV’s Top 20.

The quotes by Mauisnake are from a longer segment. You can watch the entire episode of Snake and Banter down below.
