In the latest episode of Snake and Banter, former head coach Wilton “zews” Prado has provided hefty details on the internal struggles that plagued the profiled Liquid project in 2024.
The Brazilian coach shed light on the difficulties of managing different personalities within the roster, ultimately leading to the team’s collapse. One of the key incidents he recalled was a major conflict between Casper “cadiaN” Møller and Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, which became a turning point for Liquid’s troubled project.
According to zews, things escalated near the Copenhagen Major RMR in January when a heated argument broke out between the Danish IGL and the Canadian rifler.
I get back to scrims and chaos is breaking out in team speak. Yelling is going on. There was a fight, and as you can imagine it was Twistzz and cadiaN. I’m trying to calm them down. I thought it was a fucking joke. It gets bad. It was so stupid, I swear. We had a big problem with personalities.
I set up a meeting, to try to solve this. But that’s one of the moments that things started. We didn’t really find a solution there, because we couldn’t really talk, and a lot of that was because Twistzz couldn’t find a way to talk to cadiaN honestly to actually figure shit out.
After the meeting ended, we called the CEO and had a management psychologist – like all that shit. From there honestly, it was hard for the team to move forward. It’s not an excuse but communications didn’t start.
I recommended that cadiaN had to go out because we’re never going to have a team that follows him at this point. But then Liquid was like “let’s wait and try it out for a little bit.” This is probably where I’m starting to get fed up because I see that we’re not saying the [real] reasons: “Oh, I don’t like your calling,” but I know that Twistzz has told us that he doesn’t like how cadiaN is as a human. You dislike this guy on a personal level but you can’t even tell him that so how the fuck are we doing this. It was a cluster fuck.
