G2 were trounced by a NAVI in the hole themselves and are now put on the verge of elimination by Ax1Le and nafany.
G2 have begun ESL Pro League Season 24 on nightmare mode, immediately in the 0-2 pool, where they are one loss away from being eliminated. It might be one of the rare times a team goes out in last place, right after reaching the grand final of the previous tournament.
After showing some signs of life at FISSURE Playground 3 by reaching the final, G2 are falling back down in the hole they climbed out of. The team initially faced criticism for their addition of Artem ‘r1nkle’ Morov as the AWPer, who had a poor performance overall at his previous team of NiP.
Through r1nkle initially impressed, he has fallen back down to the mean. He was the lowest-rated player for G2 with a 1.00 rating in their loss today, as the player wielding the powerful sniper rifle.
Destroyed by a weakened NAVI
NAVI have been undergoing a crisis in their CS2 roster, unable to string good performances together. However, no bar was too low for G2 to clear, as they were clinically defeated 0-2, getting 11 rounds.
One of G2’s biggest wins in their lead-up this season was against NAVI at BLAST Open Porto, confirming their increasing floor. But with this loss, they have fallen just as fast as they rose.
What’s worse, G2 went onto lose to 1WIN today, featuring Andrey ‘BELCHONOKK’ Yasinskiy, a PARIVISION reject, in a starring role to send them to the 0-2 pool. While G2 have yet to be eliminated, they could be on track to exit EPL in last place right after reaching the final of their last event.
