The Perfect World Shanghai Major is officially underway, with the Counter-Strike action kicking off this Saturday morning.
The opening round of the Major’s Opening Stage delivered surprises as four favorites fell short in best-of-one matchups, with FURIA, Virtus.pro, Complexity, and Fnatic all suffered unexpected defeats in their first outings in Shanghai.
Virtus.pro set the tone with a loss to MIBR, and FURIA followed suit, falling to GamerLegion. Complexity couldn’t handle the Australians from FlyQuest, while Fnatic narrowly lost a close battle against North American underdogs Wildcard.
Meanwhile, Liquid, BIG, and The MongolZ all secured victories to start their campaigns on the right foot.
