After two days of high-stakes Counter-Strike, the opening stage at IEM Cologne is nearing its conclusion. Friday marks the final day of Stage 1, where the last five spots in the main event will be decided.
FaZe, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and GamerLegion already punched their tickets to the next stage after picking up key wins on Thursday. Meanwhile, the road ended for MIBR, Complexity, and B8, who all suffered elimination losses.
Friday action coming up
Today’s action begins with a couple of matches from round two, with Astralis taking on FURIA in the upper bracket. The winner of that match is through to the next stage, while the loser will face off against the victor of BIG vs paiN.
After that, we will have four do-or-die matches, which will decide the last competitors for the prominent IEM Cologne main event.
