Vitality Triumph at BLAST Lisbon 2025 After Thrilling Grand Final

In a dramatic best-of-five Grand Final, Team Vitality emerged victorious at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025, securing their third major title of the year.

In a dramatic best-of-five Grand Final, Team Vitality emerged victorious at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025, securing their third major title of the year.

The world’s top-ranked team, Vitality, further solidified their dominance in 2025 with a thrilling win over MOUZ in a rematch of the ESL Pro League Season 21 Grand Final, where they had previously swept the German organization 3-0. This time, however, MOUZ put up a much stronger fight.

Historic blowout on Inferno

The series began with a shocking blowout on Inferno. MOUZ became the first team in CS2 history to be held scoreless in a map during a major Grand Final, losing 13-0 in what can only be described as a nightmare performance.

Their head coach, Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen, had just returned to the team after missing earlier parts of the tournament due to a family wedding. His calm presence was crucial as MOUZ looked to recover on the next map.

MOUZ strike back

On Mirage, MOUZ bounced back in impressive fashion. They took a commanding 9-3 lead into halftime and narrowly held off a second-half Vitality resurgence to close the map 13-11. Former Vitality rifler Lotan ‘Spinx’ Giladi was instrumental in the first half, while Jimi ‘Jimpphat’ Salo played a key role in closing out the win.

Dust2 turns the tide

MOUZ continued their resurgence on Dust2 – Vitality’s map pick – where they once again edged out a 13-11 victory. Spinx continued to shine, and Ádám ‘torzsi’ Torzsás provided valuable support. With the win, MOUZ placed Vitality under serious pressure, threatening to end their 15-match winning streak.

ZywOo strikes on Nuke

But Vitality quickly reasserted themselves on Nuke. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut stepped up with a dominant performance, helping Vitality take a 9-3 lead into halftime. They maintained control in the second half, securing the map 13-7 and forcing a decider.

Train decides it all

The final map, Train, recently reintroduced to the competitive map pool, delivered a back-and-forth battle. However, Vitality’s defense on the CT side proved too strong, shutting down MOUZ’s hopes of a comeback.

With the win, Vitality claimed their third trophy of the year – adding BLAST Open Lisbon to their IEM Katowice and ESL Pro League Season 21 titles – extending their unbeaten streak to an impressive 16 matches.

MOUZ – Vitality 2-3

Inferno: 0-13
Mirage: 13-11
Dust2: 13-11
Nuke: 7-13
Train: 7-13

Player of the match: Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut – 1.39 rating, 83-55 K/D

What’s Next for Vitality?

The team will next compete at IEM Melbourne in late April, followed by IEM Dallas in mid-May.
