The 10th annual Esports Awards ceremony in Las Vegas turned into a celebration of Counter-Strike excellence as Team Vitality and its superstar Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut earned top honors. Team Vitality’s Counter-Strike 2 squad was crowned Esports Team of the Year, while ZywOo – the team’s talismanic AWPer – clinched Esports PC Player of the Year. These twin victories underscore a dominant year for Vitality in CS2, with the team’s consistency and ZywOo’s individual brilliance propelling them to the pinnacle of esports recognition.

Team Vitality Captures Team of the Year

For Team Vitality, being named Esports Team of the Year is a testament to their outstanding performance throughout the season. The French organization’s CS2 roster impressed both fans and panelists with high-profile tournament victories and remarkable consistency. Especially in the first part of 2025, Vitality were unstoppable winning seven big tournaments, including the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

ZywOo Crowned PC Player of the Year

Adding to Vitality’s accolades, ZywOo received the Esports PC Player of the Year award. This honor recognizes ZywOo as the top PC esports athlete of 2025. The Frenchman played a vital part of Vitality’s incredible run, earning seven MVP titles in 2025 alone. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut is once again one of the top candidates for winning HLTV’s Player of the Year award, cementing his position as one of the all-time greats in the game.

dupreeh Inducted into Lifetime Achievement in Esports

In a poignant moment for the Counter-Strike community, Danish legend Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen was inducted into the Lifetime Achievement in Esports: Class of 2025. This lifetime achievement honor places dupreeh among an elite group of esports figures celebrated for their enduring contributions to the industry. A veteran of the CS:GO era, dupreeh’s career includes a record-setting five Major championship titles and over a decade of competitive play at the highest level. His relentless dedication and success – spanning early days with Team Dignitas and Astralis through his recent stint with Team Vitality – have left an indelible mark on Counter-Strike’s history. Being named to the Lifetime Achievement Class of 2025 is a fitting tribute to dupreeh’s legacy, as he joins other icons like Johan “N0tail” Sundstein in esports’ hall of fame. The Las Vegas audience applauded as dupreeh’s illustrious career was celebrated, capping off a night that honored not just current champions but also the legends of the game.

Team Falcons received an additional nod to close out the event’s Counter-Strike highlights, as the Saudi-based organization was announced as Esports Organisation of the Year. While Team Falcons fields rosters across multiple games, the award recognizes the org’s overall impact and success in esports throughout the year. This acknowledgement, alongside Vitality’s and ZywOo’s awards and dupreeh’s lifetime honor, made the 2025 Esports Awards a memorable night for the Counter-Strike community. The ceremony underscored the continued prominence of CS2 on the world stage and celebrated those who have contributed most to the game’s bright future and storied past.
