Without much surprise, the first teams to book their tickets for the playoffs at IEM Dallas are Vitality, Falcons, MOUZ, and The MongolZ.
That was confirmed last night as the second round of matches concluded, with the four highest-seeded teams all winning their second consecutive series and securing progression.
MOUZ and the world leaders from Vitality kicked things off with clean 2-0 wins over Liquid and GamerLegion, respectively.
Both handled their opponents with ease, with Vitality now extending their streak to 18 straight playoff appearances — a simply incredible achievement.
Two more progressing
After apEX and Brollan led their squads through, Falcons and The MongolZ followed up by taking down HEROIC and G2, respectively, to round out the quartet.
These four teams will now battle it out in the upper bracket finals for a direct spot in the semifinals. In Group A, Vitality will face The MongolZ, while Group B features MOUZ against Falcons.
Both upper bracket finals are set for Wednesday, alongside a packed slate of elimination matches. You can find the full schedule below.
