Linus 'nilo' Bergman was impeccable for HEROIC, before Liquid took out Gentle Mates.

Linus ‘nilo’ Bergman was impeccable for HEROIC, before Liquid took out Gentle Mates.

paiN Gaming took on HEROIC with their new roster, and came out none the better. nilo came in super clutch for HEROIC, got over the line in close fashion while playing with a stand-in.

HEROIC were also operating with a new roster, with Christoffer ‘Chr1zN’ Storgaard now operating at the helm. They blew out paiN on Nuke 13-6, but were about to lose their own pick of Mirage, thanks to strong late-game play from João ‘snow’ Vinicius.

However, nilo came alive to break paiN’s hearts. He was unstoppable defending short, and won multiple clutch situations single-handedly for HEROIC.

They closed out 16-14, and sent paiN out of the tournament, spoiling the tournament debut for Guilherme ‘piriajr’ Barbosa, who was solid otherwise.

Gentle Mates win Inferno but lose series

Gentle Mates came out strong against Liquid as they won their map pick of Inferno 13-7. Nobody on Liquid could find their footing, bar Keith ‘NAFFLY’ Markovic.

The Spaniards walked over Liquid with timely calls exploting their weaknesses. Pere ‘sausol’ Solsona Saumell repeatedly found succesful lurks against Guy ‘NertZ’ Iluz, opening ther other side of the map.

It looked like a potential upset was on the horizon, until Liquid turned the ship around on Mirage. Kamil ‘siuhy’ Szkaradek had a small renaissance on Mirage, top-fragging as the captain while Liquid dominated the CT side.

On Nuke, Gentle Mates had nothing left in the tank as Liquid rolled over them 10-2 on the defensive side. This time, NertZ got his revenge, getting over 1 kill per round and a whopping 12%+ round swing.
