SunPayus denies that G2 change affected HEROIC: “It was a bit more of a choke”

The AWPer of HEROIC, SunPayus, was eliminated from the Austin Major by Nemiga in close 2-0 fashion.

SunPayus is set to make a move to G2 Esports, along with coach sAW, a change officially announced before the start of the Major.

“We were not there mentally”

When it came to the reasons for HEROIC’s loss, SunPayus put it down to lack of confidence in pistol rounds, and denied that Nemiga caught them off-guard.

• When you play at this level and you lose pistols and anti-ecos, you always have to climb up, which is similar to what happened to Falcons I think.

• I don’t think there’s anything special about [Nemiga’s] gamestyle. I think they are good, but they’re nothing special. This game, we lost it, we were not there mentally.

SunPayus is now eliminated from the BLAST Austin Major in 17-19th place overall. 

Stage 2 rages on today with B8 vs Lynn Vision and FaZe Clan vs MIBR.
