Spirit reportedly looking to sign CIS talent

After their disappointing quarterfinal exit at the Major, the Russians are looking to make changes.

Spirit are reportedly targeting Nemiga’s rising star Ivan “zweih” Gogin, according to a report by HLTV.

The 17-year-old rifler has been a key figure in Nemiga’s strong recent form, putting up strong numbers throughout the season and is now being linked with one of the best teams in the world.

The report by HLTV does not say anything about who the CIS talent will replace on Spirit.

But the two most obvious players to leave the starting lineup would be Boris “magixx” Vorobiev and Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia.

Lackluster Major

Despite winning two events this year, Spirit’s season has fallen short of expectations. The team has struggled to replicate their dominance from last season, and their quarterfinal exit at the BLAST.tv Austin Major may have been the final straw.

Meanwhile, Nemiga turned heads in Austin with a surprising top-16 finish, in a run that helped shine a spotlight on zweih’s strong performance.
