Shock move! Eternal Fire roster acquired by Aurora

Economic difficulties led to the roster’s departure from Eternal Fire.

In a highly unexpected twist, Aurora has announced the acquisition of the entire Eternal Fire roster, led by Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli.

The news comes just hours after Aurora revealed that their CIS lineup had been benched. Now, the organization is pivoting to a fully Turkish roster, which is currently ranked #5 on Valve’s global leaderboard and one of the most consistent performers in 2025.

A hard but necessary farewell

The Turkish top team, headlined by İsmailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş, has been playing under the Eternal Fire banner since 2021.

Since then, the team has developed into a strong contender on the biggest stages, consistently competing with some of the best in the scene.

All while proudly representing their home country in the Eternal Fire jersey. That’s why it was a difficult decision for the players to leave the organization, but a necessary one, as Özgür “woxic” Eker explained in a statement today:

“Due to the fact that the upcoming period will not be very favorable for our CS roster and unfortunately the lack of CS sponsorship conditions in Turkey, this sad decision was forced to be taken.

“I am confident that you will continue to support us in our new home, Aurora. I know that you will be able to understand this process and what happened better as time passes; however, I am also aware that it will not be easy for many of you to accept this.

“My heart is broken, a bitterness on my face… Farewell EF family!”

MAJ3R and his troops will get their debut as the new Aurora at PGL Bucharest, starting tomorrow.
